Drupal is one of the first OpenSource content management systems to provide support for OpenID in its core. OpenID is a great concept in that it allows users to share a sign-on amongst websites. For many users and website owners alike, this offers a huge advantage in that it overcomes one of the largest hurdles to user registration, users having to maintain yet another login to yet another website. While OpenID has been adopted by many major service providers, the concept of OpenID is still foreign to many users.
